About Rann Utsav – The Tent City
Rann Utsav – The Tent City is more than an annual festival; it is a living celebration of Gujarat’s soul. Nestled in the heart of the Great Rann of Kutch, the event transforms the vast salt desert into a cultural wonderland, where traditions, colors, and hospitality come alive under starry skies.
What began as a modest three-day initiative in 2005 has grown into one of India’s most iconic festivals. Conceived under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi (then Chief Minister of Gujarat), Rann Utsav now runs for over 100 days each year, welcoming guests from across the world to witness the harmony of contrasts — tradition and adventure, silence and music, culture and comfort.
